Involved in research and conservation of dragonflies and damselflies of Sri Lanka.

Amila is a nature enthusiast from his early childhood and a birder since he was 13. He has been working with many conservation societies and research teams as a field biologist and a conservationist for almost a decade. His initial interest on birds widened over time, covering many faunal taxa in the country. Currently he is mostly involved in research and conservation of dragonflies and damselflies of Sri Lanka. He has authored a few scientific articles on the subject and is writing a field guide on these wonderful insects.
