Welcome to Baur’s Travels. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website (www.baurstravels.com) and the travel services provided by A. Baur & Co. Travel (Pvt) Ltd (“The Company,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”).

By booking a tour, flight, or any travel-related service with us, or by using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before proceeding with any booking.

1. General Agreement

By accessing this website and/or purchasing our services, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and possess the legal authority to enter into this agreement. If you are booking on behalf of other travelers, it is your responsibility to bring these Terms to their attention.

2. Bookings and Payments

  • Reservations: A booking is only considered “Confirmed” once we have received the required deposit or full payment and have issued a formal confirmation invoice.

  • Payment Schedule: For tour packages, a non-refundable deposit is typically required at the time of booking. The remaining balance must be paid no later than [30/60] days before the date of travel, unless otherwise specified.

  • Currency: All prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) or Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) as indicated. We are not responsible for fluctuations in exchange rates or additional bank fees charged by your provider.

  • Accuracy: You are responsible for ensuring that all names and passport details provided at the time of booking are accurate and match your travel documents exactly.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellations must be submitted in writing to tourism@baurs.com. The following charges typically apply (subject to the specific terms of the package):

  • More than 60 days before travel: Loss of deposit.

  • 30–59 days before travel: 50% of the total cost.

  • Less than 30 days before travel: 100% of the total cost (No refund).

  • Third-Party Services: Flights, certain luxury hotels, and special events may have stricter non-refundable policies which will be communicated at the time of booking.

4. Travel Documents and Insurance

  • Visas & Passports: It is the traveler’s sole responsibility to ensure they hold a valid passport (with at least 6 months validity) and the necessary visas for entry into Sri Lanka or any other destination.

  • Travel Insurance: Baur’s Travels strongly recommends that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking. This should cover trip cancellation, medical expenses, personal accident, and loss of luggage.

5. Health and Safety

Travelers are responsible for assessing their own physical fitness for the chosen itinerary. You must inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, or dietary requirements at the time of booking. We reserve the right to decline or cancel a booking if a traveler’s health condition may endanger themselves or others.

6. Liability and Force Majeure

  • Third-Party Providers: We act as an agent for hotels, airlines, transport companies, and other contractors. While we select our partners with care, we are not liable for any acts, errors, omissions, or negligence of these independent third parties.

  • Force Majeure: Baur’s Travels shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or delay caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, civil unrest, strikes, pandemics, weather conditions, or government restrictions.

7. Changes to Itinerary

While we endeavor to operate all tours as advertised, we reserve the right to make minor changes to the itinerary (e.g., changing a hotel to one of a similar standard) if necessary. In the event of a “Significant Change” before departure, you will be offered the choice of accepting the change or receiving a full refund.

8. Use of the Website

The content on https://baurstravels.com/ is for your general information and use only. Unauthorized use of this website may give rise to a claim for damages and/or be a criminal offense. You may not frame this site or link to it without our prior written consent.

9. Privacy Policy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which details how we collect and protect your personal data in compliance with Sri Lankan data protection laws.

10. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of The Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Colombo.
